Extract 1: Maths AA HL exploration (sample written by Marksy)
The SIR model was chosen because it is the simplest model of an epidemic and because many later models are built on it. The aim of this exploration is to find the best fit of the SIR model to real data from Portugal by adjusting the transmission rate β and the recovery rate γ. I solved the system numerically with Euler's method and a step of one day.
